Long Division 2-digit Quotient example 2
Let's take 99 divided by 5. You place the dividend 99 inside and the divisor 5 on the outside. 5 goes into 9 once. Place the 1 in the 10s place. 5 times 10 is 50. We subtract the 50 from 99 and get 49. 5 goes into 49, 9 times. 9 times 5 equals 45. We subtract the 45 from 49 and get 4. 4 is less than 5 and thus get a remainder of 4. 99 divided by 5 is equal to 19 remainder 4.
